Web breaks during storm

Is it normal for a lightning storm to upset a web connexion? Its "gorn orf" twice in the last 1/2 hour.I changed over to my web station as all the other amps and things are unplugged.

Due to an electric storm in the Falkland Islands, just South of Goose Green the 11:17 from Southend Central to Barking has been cancelled.
