Tony (TS) McPhee (Groundhogs) suffers stroke

Saw them in I think 1970. Great gig.

Tony jumped up on the drum riser and managed to wrap his guitar lead round one of the tom toms. Don't now how.

He then thrust his guitar forward (don't think he knew about the guitar lead being round the tom tom) and the next thing we knew the drum kit was lying in a heap on the stage.

Roadies rushed out to try and put the drum kit back together and instead of stopping he continued playing solo whilst the chaos was going on behind him.

I saw the Groundhogs at Brunel University about 75/76 time. Brilliant concert. Lets hope Tony makes a speedy recovery.

....One of the first bands I really got into .....Remember seeing them play "Split Part 2" on Top of the Pops when they had a short lived album section on the show..

Thank Christ For The Bomb still gets played in my gaff along with the aforementioned Split Tony is a tremendous guitar player.
