Hi-Fi show Zagreb 03

Hi,
here are some pictures from domestic show.
I was found my audio nirvana and that is Hajdinjak Labs (Slovenia) amplification and speakers which are the best system I have ever heard in my life. I simply could not believe that this is the sound of tube, yes... tube. Amazingly fast, tonally rich, excellent soundstage, tight, crisp... it totally blows me away. I was listened to Leo Green - Angels song from Naim sampler and that system makes my eyes full of tears, it was so organic and... real, just like in front of me are real instrumentalists. People, I was never believed that I would like tubes even more because my dissapointment after listening to Conrad&Johnson, Vac, Cary, Unison Research, Audio Research and few other brand names.
The designer is Bojan Hajdinjak from Slovenia, a wonderful person also. You can check it on
www.hajdinjaklabs.com. He was made some things in the past like Pear audio and parts for VTL and Shahinian.
Here is a show picture of his Hardliner speaker with magnetostatic driver (I was never heard anything close to this). On the floor is his Jubal tube integrated amplifier which is really amazing. I was ordered one, but slightly better one called as usual, "Reference".

PMC/Bryston room...
Something was been wrong in the setup.
This system was sounded to me like a sound... from a "catalogue".

The exhibitor was used some old Mission cd player. Never seen that player before and maybe is that a problem here.

I was been in doubt to post or not this picture. It's me on the pic and you can see from my face that I want to say mmmmm...nah, no good (moving head from left to right pretty slowly).

Hi Ozren,
Good pics - those rooms look familiar, is that Hotel Opera used for the venue?
Pity so many of the sounds were not too thrilling - glad you found a revelation in Hajdinjak, though I don't think I'd be able to accomodate a pair of the Hardliner speakers in my living room!
Cheers,
Richard.

Omer and Richard,
thank you. Actually, I am in negotiations with Hajdinjak about to make me a pair of his new speakers which are not on his site yet. They would be big just as Savin model is, but drivers should be positioned in a conventional way, not indirect reflection design. Savin is better than best Shahinian speaker and there is no question about it.

Hi Ozren,
Now that's a lot more domestically acceptable! When you get pictures of the actual model you are considering, I'd like to see them.
Interesting use of angles. I'm currently toying with building a new set of speakers and collecting lots of cabinet ideas at the minute.
Speaking of Slovenia, I climbed Triglav in the Julian Alps at the beginning of September, nice people, good beer, beautiful country. (Not as nice as Croatia of course!!)
Cheers!
Richard.

Richard,
No problem, it would be my pleasure to keep you inform about that. I am also interested to see your design in the future.
Glad to hear that you are having a good time at Julian Alps. I was also been there some time ago. What a nice nature is that!!!

I've heard excellent sounds from Bojan's amps when they were still marketed as Pear designs, and into Shahinian speakers. I expect they will have been further refined by now.
Once you get your amp, let us know how you rate them.

Hi Ozren,
I knew it! About the Hotel that is. I worked in Zagreb a lot last year and this year, staying in the Opera most of the time.
It was nice to bump into Miss Universe on an almost-daily basis!
I'm currently getting excited about building a set of three way floorstanders with many features normally reserved for the high-end.

Cosmetically the sketches I've come up with so far have looked like an old dustbin with a Dalek sans sink plunger on top.

These guys who run their own small firms and produce such impressive equipment are complete stars in my mind. Not so sure about these dodgy folk who tempt people away from Naim though!

Cheers,
Richard.

Alex,
Yes I am, but you really need to hear that sound. I will inform you when my first HL component come. I am also thinking these days about my future source. Currently I have at home on test Wadia 301 cd player which is... (I would be gentleman) actually, which I like more than CD5. Wadia is not new and the price is good and I am in doubt to get 301 or Hajdinjak player which will come out at begining of 04. I will se, but the most important thing is that I am finally catch some "money train".
Richard,
Nice to hear that.
Post some pic of your speakers to us if you have.
Rico,
ok,

Garyi,
I was never accepted and separate the sound in a discrimination way. I just like to say truth, it is good or it is bad, that's why some people from domestic audio sphere don't like me. That is their problem, not mine.
also, I am glad to hear (conclude) that (I suppose that you are) you enjoy your flat earth system. But...sometimes is good to turn around and wipe that blindness which was caused by some imaginary stands which can be truth or not and use only your ears to find out what component is for you.
Ozren
