Probably the best recorded CD in the world....

Try 'This is Stina Nordenstam' by Stina Nordenstam.

Fabulously engineered to show the complete dynamic capabilities of your system and exellent music to boot. Leaves Bjork standing IMHO.

Trevp's post re. 'Source First??' prompted me to post this as back up to his point/campaign. If all engineers were this good we'd all be very happy bunnies!

Graeme,

supposed you don’t dislike “sad music” :-) you may try some early true stereo (not close-miked) recordings of Mercury and RCA from around 1958-60. Analogue, of course, and on CD they are really cheap. Maybe the best sounding is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade (Mercury Living Presence 462 953-2) and while classical it’s real “Hi-Fi Music” that can’t be missed even by a pop fan.

Nothing 'sad' about these suggestions...my collection is very broad.

Try also Bruckner Sypmphony No.4 Karl Bohm on the Decca 'Legends' series from 1974: 28946 63742.

I tell ya', this will have to stop soon - it's only a matter of time before Adam gets his computer set up in France and Le Moderator puts an end to all this misbehaviour! Big Grin

You should try 'American Life' - Madonna....OK it may not be what you're used to but be patient, sit back, and listen!!!
