Hi all

I know some of you wanted to know about the new Henry Fool recordings. Well, the first fruits of our labours is in the audio section at www.henryfool.com -'Pills in the Afternoon'.

We're hoping the new album should be available early 2002.

/advert off

Congratulations, Stephen.

BTW making early 2002 is perhaps a tough call by now, though...

..for the kind words again! I was up until 3 sorting the studio stuff out last night. I'Pills' has had a good response so far and it's appearing on a Virgin Poland (ah, the big time cool ) compilation album.

Nicks right Alan - get the stuff somewhere we can hear it!

Ah, the old "straight-to-piracy" strategy.

Nah - we'll remix for the album and add Hugh Hopper playing bass.

You can't beat a nice bit of mellotron.

Indeed. I think it's the most inspirational instrument known to man.

Back to the album - are we going to get a similar proportion of instrumental to vocal tracks? I thought the first one had that just about right.

I think it'll be the same-ish. It's looking that way.

There can't be that many working mellotrons knocking about these days - and I would have thought there's a fair chance it has a history - any ideas?

The one I've used came from a studio in London. I don't think it's been around at all anywhere interesting.

I do, however have the Roland D50 used by Jon Hiesman on 'A Touch of frost' and the EMU EMAX used by White Town on 'Your Woman'!

PS -I wasn't joking about Hugh - he's releasing some stuff on Burning Shed. It's an album of loops and cut ups of the likes of Robert Wyatt and Elton Dean in a contemporay ambient beat setting - so Tim says wink

Biosphere meets Boards of Canada meets Royksopp meets FourTet.

I like the sound of this too. Although I don't know Biosphere (which one to buy?) the other 3 are great. Any chance you could send me a CD to listen to?

I never get this response when I say that The Fire Thieves sounds like Blue Nile meets Prefab Sprout at Peter Gabriel and David Sylvians studio, while inviting the Cowboy Junkies, Caravan and U2 over for lunch.
