Hi John,

these first time polls are invariably hilarious.

So voters can vote for "please help" or abstain?

Never mind. Welcome to the forum, and my guess is every single member at this place would say, yes, replacing the Marantz with a Naim cdplayer would be a very good idea.

Also, have you tried shifting the Totems a little bit? And is the 112 / 150 well run in yet?

Herman

PS I just assumed your name is John...

Hi
I went from a K I signature cd player to a CD 5 and was very pleased with the result, but the Marantz is known for loads of bass slam so that is not causing the problem you describe. Sorry I can't help more.

hi herm and monkfish, i have tried moving the speakers closer to the wall, seems not much help, you are right, my system is only 3 days old, not break-in yet but how long will it take to break in , i was advised by the dealer to leave it on 24hrs to speed up the breaking in time. Will changing the speakers to say Dynaudio 1.1 helps?
Will Dynaudio 1.1 consider an upgrade or side step or downgrade?

The other problem that i face was that one side of the volume seems to disappeared(sometimes intermittenly) when the vol. is set at a lower level, turn the vol. knob a bit the sound comes back. This is especially when using the remote to turn the vol. Could this be a hardware failure?

Two weeks? A month? There may still be a little more to come after that, but not much.

Well, the dealer is half right. You should leave it on 24/7 while it runs in.

Then you should leave it on 24/7/365 thereafter as well.

cheers, Martin

P.S. one Brownie point for anyone who spots one of my favourite faux-pas in this posting.
