A fantastic album. I'm really loving it. A must have for alt country, Jayhawks, etc fans. Produced very nicely by Chris Robinson.

I've been looking for a sequel to "Hollywood Townhall". Is this it ?
I've ordered it already, so we'll see

It just might be. It is damn good.
One caution: I compared the vinyl to CD last night and the CD is much better.

That's not a worry for me, CD replay on my rig is very good, and it takes quite a special pressing to be convincingly better. It's also much more complicated to rip an LP to iTunes

not like hollywood town hall , more like rainy day music, it is still a great cd, but maybe if you want the sound of hth louris and olson cd should be out later this year, the jayhawks are still my favourite band

Jayhawks fans may also like the recent 'the Salvation Blues' by Marl Olson.
However, I find neither this or Vagabonds anywhere near the Jawhawks peak 'Tomorrow the Green Grass'. Sadly another example of a songwriting partnership splitting and the resultant parts being less than was before.

Still prefere Hollywood Townhall, maybe because I heard it before Tomorrow the Green Grass ?

I had always thought that 'Sound of Lies' was the Jayhawks at their peak, do you mean the earlier stuff was even better ?

I for one personally prefer the earlier Jayhawks discs.

This just arrived, sounds like the Jayhawks after a world of hurt ... Great music, tho', just, I kind find the words, tender, sensitive, hurt ... take your pick.
