Well I thought, gary you have a great girlfriend who puts up with half a living room of wires and stereo and macs and stuff (plus hours of geeking)so I had better treat her.

Being a chef I did a nice meal, and towards the end of the evening put on 'Songs in the key of life', by stevie wonder.

we listend to the whole double LP. Loverly it was.

Anyone else get the old love tunes out last night?

After my wife had cooked me rather a nice valentines meal:

Grilled Goats cheese on Soda bread with cherry tomatoes and bacon

Stuffed Steak with Dublin Coddle and salad

Steamed Apple pudding with custard

A couple of Baileys to start, Champagne with the meal, port and coffee to finish

We relaxed and spent some time listening to music.

Spun were:

Sinead Lohan - Who do you think I am
Waterboys - Fishermans Blues
Beth Orton - Trailerpark
Rebecca Pidgeon - Four Marys
Beth Orton - Central Reservation

This was the first time my wife had really listened to the new setup (Naim CD3.5, Audio Note Oto, Triangle Titus XS) and the verdict was "wonderful" especially on the Beth Orton tracks Blood Red River and Devil Song from Central Reservation.

We managed to dance to "Wonderful World"...

Valentine's Dinner is Saturday night and we both look forward to it.

Cheers

Keith.

Bit worried by that. Anyway, how about Where the Wild Roses Grow by Nick Cave? ;-)

Alex I mean of the computer kind as well you know!

Aprox 1 quarter of the living room is imac, isub, printer, scanner, camera, palm, zip. Only the imac ever gets used the rest is just toys.

She's very understanding.

BTW if anyone wants to buy my palm I am selling it, 4 meg palm IIIx, with serial and usb cradle, mac and pc software.

Not much use to me in the kitchen!

Come sail your ships around me
And burn your bridges down
We make a little history, baby
Every time you come around

Come loose your dogs upon me
And let your hair hang down
You are a little mystery to me
Every time you come around
