DVD Mahler's 2nd Symphony

Does anyone know if there is a DVD recording of Mahler's 2nd? I own a laser disc copy of Leonard Bernstein Conducting this piece on the Deutch Grammaphone Label. I know of no DVD's of this symphony.

Claudio Abbado's recent release of his live Lucerne Festival recording is available (in Europe, at least) on DVD from EuroArts DV-COMS2.

The same concert appears on a DGG 2CD set, coupled with Debussy's La Mer, which I have and recommend thoroughly (haven't seen the DVD). Gramophone magazine (Dec 04) described the DVD as "a definite asset in the Mahler".

If you must have Bernstein, I believe that DGG will be releasing his Mahler cycle on DVD later this year.

I was tempted by the Abbado (as I have the cd and like it - he also has a ninth out with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, who are very good), however, I can't seem to justify the £20 that these concert dvds cost. It's more than a cd, yet while I'll listen to a cd many times, I won't with a dvd. Not good value.

Graham is correct, according to Gramophone Bernstein's DG cycle is coming to dvd later this year (and given my a dual addictions to Bernstein and Mahler it may cost me some serious cash....), however there's release date according to their website. On which subject, presumably that cycle doesn't include the 8th (as that was about to be recorded when he died, and the one they've used on the cycle is from 1975, live in Viena).

Gentlemen;

Slightly off topic but you may have seen that Gilbert Kaplan is conducting this symphony on 18th October at the RAH with the Philharmonia. Sadly I cannot make it but it should be excellent.
