Will do, Kevin - although KW at the RFH would have been perfection - it's [apart from possibly the Shepherd's Bush Empire] my favourite current venue.... a wander round the bookshop beforehand, fag on the terrace and all that lovely high class 50's -ness to drink in. Still, standing up sweaty Kraftwerk is better than no Kraftwerk at all...
At a tangent, I was amazed to see how cheap the RFH tickets were - £27.50 was the top price. Compares very well to Brian Wilson's 'Smile' at £60, and for that matter the £50 I just paid for Bowie at Wembley, which is just a vast draughty sonically atrocious cowshed with no atmosphere whatsoever[or period fittings]. And I was at the very back [still good though].
London, while having loads of smaller venues is ill-served when it comes to bigger events. There's the Hammersmith Odeon [or Labatt's Apollo, or whatever it's called this week] but no one seems to go there [except Michael Flatley]. The Dome is probably too big, even before acoustics get a look in and the logistics of opening it for concerts are probably unworkable anyway.
What really galls me is that the vast, glamourous, magnificent and stupendous Rainbow [as was] at Finsbury Park stands empty and crumbling, a listed building replete with gobsmacking 30's minarets & camels - even a twinkly sky and electric sunset[!]whose only current purpose is to hold the occasional Tupperware party for Abu Hamza & pals in the stalls.
Never mind Wilton's crappy old Music Hall, this should have been London's bid for the BBC's 'Restoration'. Would have won hands down, I'd have thought....

Throb - did you get any Brixton tickets?
I tried the RFH also, but they sold out in about 3 seconds. I agree, it would have been the perfect place to see the 'Werk.
I saw them at the Lyceum in '81, which was good, much better than the Academy in '83...
