attaching of foam grilles
Posted by: Adrian F. on 06 August 2002
Hi all!
This spring I bought s/h DBL's. Like all classic naim speakers (IBL, SBL) they use foam grilles.
When they get older, and you remove the grilles, the fixing tape sticks better to the grilles than to the front plate of the speakers...
My local dealer spoke to naim and they told him, that this tape can easily be found local. But I ran around to every hobby/do-it-yourself/special shop around here, and no one has ever seen this product!
The standard velcro kind of tape (with small hooks like umbrella handles) are available everywhere, but it doesen't fit the rough structured holes in the foam. The original tape uses much less hooks per row, and they are shaped like the big letter "T" with serifes.
Can someone point me to a shop (local or internet) or knows about the brand or the correct name for this tape??
Thank's a lot and
happy listening
Adrian
