Seventeen again, laying on the dining room floor with my ear pressed against the right speaker of the Zenith console hi-fi, dreaming of running away from the future (college, summer work, etc) to San Francisco and the flower children. Tune in, turn on and enjoy !

Great one Jeff, I remember being in the basement in Philly listening to the Mommas and Pappas California Dreaming not realizing I'd actually live in CA at 16.
Loved the volley of American bands and the British invasion. Then George started world music by playing the Sitar. I loved it while friends thought it sooo boring.

Thanks for the tip
If you dig psychadlic I can recommend "Cosmic Sounds - The Zodiac", "Erick - Fuzzyfelt", "Porcupine Tree - On the Sunday of life" (not sure if the last one is in the Psychadelic genere though..

Yet another undeserved Beatles credit for inventing something.

well, to a little know nothing at 13 in Philly suburbs it was world music, 40 years on I've heard a lot more and better. It's easy to look back and snear. Gawd the awful things that had been done as Psychedelic. Turn that camera out of focus and hand held jitters, put that color dye in the projector and make that guitar screech. Ugh! That, is crap.
A year later we had a woman from India staying with us and she was amazed I like her native music down in my basement. I've probably am the only one to own Wonderwall. She had great stories that rivaled Riki Tiki Tavy. Captivated me in mid 60s.
Then Paul Simon had the Peruvian backups, Gospel groups, then African. Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads in Brazil etc. Gamelon music studied by the West Coast group. Music has wonderfully integrated while most of humanity hasn't despite the diaspora.

wow I've spent half an hour remembering Sehba, she was such a wonderful woman and interested in children. She got the masters and work experience in the US in child development as to "under developed" and used to visit often. She was one of those angels in my life when I had conservative parents and a horrible self image. And George was outside and expressed it in "Within You, Without You"
Decades later I did meditations and read a lot of outside ideas. But he hit the nail on the head. If you don't get it that's OK, I"m still entertained by it and love George dearly. A quote from someone said "He was the only one who could play between John and Paul and hold his own" Then he did "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun". God bless him for Concert for Banglesesh. Leon should be happy, put him on the major stage, and getting Dylan to play....
