nac112 & nait5 preamp section - difference?

Can anybody help me?

Is there anything to be gained sonically by swapping a nait5 (to be used as a preamp only) for a nac112?

Thanks

at the office.....

the 112 is a very much less noisy in comparison, period.

the nait 5 as preamp will get you thru the night, and there are definite benefits of the better amp used.

kudos also to the nait 5, a formidable beast and a nice affordable system in itself, best flatcapped, and needs not make excuses for its existence.

When you have the time out, take 5, and give it a listen.

I believe the primary difference is the NAC112 has the time-aligned filters and sounds better as a result.

The fact that the AV 2 has a transformer inside gives you some indication of it's potential as a preamp. The comparison is with the Nait 5 preamp section. The Nac 112 is demonstrably superior.
