Fraim Set-up...

Posted by: andy c on 13 February 2004

Ok,
It's on its way now - due for delivery week after next... Then its Fraim v Mana.

Now,
the question.
I read elsewhere on this forum some really good in-depth stuff about setting the bloody thing (Fraim that is) up. I've tried searching for it but, as has been commented on before, the search engine on this forum is average to say the least.
Can anyone point me in the right direction re the setup hints link, or anyone out there with any tips re setting the Fraim up optimally please?

Andy

Is'nt your dealer going to set it up for you? He should have the skillls and the experience to get it working well from the start.

Hi Syd,
re your comment - perhaps.
I always have pleasure in setting stuff up meself as well - and considering some of the tips on this forum may well get it set up better than a dealer anyway... Big Grin

To the above - thanks for the links!
Now, I also read elsewhere about the glass supplied having a preferable side up...!!!!

And I thought my mana was tweaky...!

That's correct Andy. Flip the glass after rapping it with your knuckles (while observing the quality of the tone). Whichever side produces the most distinct "pitch" is the best sounding side. If there is no distinct difference, re-check setup (cones touching cup side-walls for example, overtightened or too slack nuts) and test the glass again.

keep us posted.....
