Spoof Tribute Bands...

Posted by: bob atherton on 28 November 2001

Last night I had great fun at a Pop Quiz night. Our team had in it 2 radio DJ's & both of then ran music & dance clubs in a previous life. I thought that we were on to a winner, but came 5th out of 10 teams....oh well..

Each team had a fictitious name based around band or song names. If you know the SW of the UK you will understand our team name " I Just Can't Get You Out Of Minehead".

There were also a couple of spoof tribute band names, my favourite being "Poxy Music"!

I thought that it might be fun to think up some spoof tribute band names....

Stevie Blunder, for instance?

Or how about a hybrid Swedish pop/Brit prog band called - Abbacab?

Tom Weights (the even heavier smoker)
Bob Dylan Thomas (with apologies to Private Eye)
Status D'oh (The Simpsons version)

I could go but I'd better not...

...but I saw the Tribute John lennon in New York recently. The gig was going fine, but ended in tragedy - he was shot by the tribute Mark Chapman.
