What are the F1 teams and Autosport on about?

I just read this on the Autosport website. I thought wet conditions were supposed to neutralise any power advantages. So how could a Ferrari engine in the STR chassis have had any advantage over the Renault engine in the RBR? Are they going to tell us next that the Ferrari engine in the STR is more powerful than Ferrari's own?

Or maybe it's a dry week for F1 news, now that all the drivers hang well back after cutting a chicane then don't over-take til after the next corner/turn/bend/slight deviation from straight.

4 top speeds at Spa were 2 Ferraris and 2 Torro Rossos.

Monza was all about being on track at the right time to set pole times and starting at the front in the race.
If the rain had come again or Lewis had gambled on a tyre change to inters at his pit stop he would have probably won on a one stop strategy. Track conditions just didn't favour him or the other 1 stoppers.
Vettel won with good driving good strategy and a Ferrari engine. Why the 2 other Ferrari engines did not do much who knows although Kimi did set fastest lap I think.

Good points. I wonder if the Ferrari and STR gearing favoured the race rather than qualifying?

It's very difficult to gauge the relative performances in such variable conditions.A good reason for running all F1 races at least wet for part of the race. Smile
Singapore should be good a night race, street circuit and a very good chance of rain. Sounds like a recipe for disaster or great viewing.
