Headphone only setup using CD5 into headline

Posted by: Freckles on 16 November 2003

Hi

Does anybody know if it is possible to run the output of my CD5 straight into a headline creating a headphone only setup without the need for a preamp. Would doing this work? If it does work could it cause any potential damage to the CD5 or the headline by a mismatch of impedences or output levels e.t.c. I already have a flatcap 2 that I could use to power both the Cd5 and headline.

Currently I feed my Headline from a Pioneer DVD player when looking at movies and music programs. Works very nice.

You need to do / have done som special cabling to feed the Headline with a signal from the CD but then it's just turning up the volume and enjoy!

See this thread.

I asked this question recently and Naim can make a connecting cable for the purpose.
