Con FUSED ?

Posted by: Dazlin on 26 July 2001

My local dealer reckons the mains plug should have the fuse correctly installed (only 2 ways to do it I presume) and assured me he wasn't jerking my chain. I've not tried it incase I have to explain myself to unexpected visitors. I could imagine a daily bet of trying to sell the best BS of the day might add a little spark to a salesman's day. What do you think?, confused

Thanks Richard, I found some interesting stuff there. I have to admit, there was a difference when bought one of my dealers "own" four way sockets which at the time I felt silly about. So how likely is it I will hear the difference of turning the fuse around and how do I know which is the "right" way?

Thanks Boys.

It looks like I will have to try this for myself.

I am a humane and honorable individual and must subject only myself to this dangerous experiment.

The proof may well be found in this pudding and should I find I've been listening to Amstradeous Screecheous I have prepared a ritual suicide.

My will asks my executor to let you know how I got on just incase.

PS. I'm still going to do this in the dead of night incase I have to explain myself.

If fuse orientation is so obvious, I challenge you to cover all of your fuses' printing with insulating tape and then orientate them by ear. You won't need to take the tape of to check because the sound will be so different. Right? roll eyes

I don't know about you but I reckon Mr Pig is something of a split personality?

One minute he's all nasty and insulting and bordering on the illiterate and the next minute he's waxing lyrical and sounding like some guy from the Good Old Days!

What are you on Mr Pig? and who's there with you?

Friday right?

I found there was considerable benefit in replacing my internal fuses with new ones.

Personally I feel that the service dept should do this on all kit that comes through their hands.

You need to check the ratings of the ones in your kit, then get your dealer to order the appropriate ones from Naim.

cheers, Martin
