U Turns
Posted by: Dodge on 28 November 2006
I’ve done a few U-turns on albums over the years...hate or indifference growing into love.
I bought War by U2 and was really disappointed, so swapped it for...do you know what, I can’t remember, probably some new romantic crap. What I do remember is buying it again two weeks later...Sunday Bloody Sunday had eaten its way under my skin.
Talking of new romantic crap, I’m going to see the Human League tonight at Cliffs Pavilion in Southend! I meander, sorry…
Another one is Eat It by Humble Pie, which I hated with a passion, because I really wanted Quadrophenia. Nevertheless, I grew to love it and was hugely disappointed that it was damaged at a party when one of my friends [who fortunately failed to get into the fire brigade] warped the thing by placing it over a lampshade in an effort to create ambient lighting...
Of course, I could only get eat it again several years later, as a Japanese import @ about £20!
