It's a personal taste thing here. I've demoed the 5.3's and owned the 5.0's that have the same drivers and same sound.
A very polite Round Earth speaker that works very well with tubes. Not exactly fast, but very sweet sounding. Loads of deep bass but not particularly tight.
These speakers typically sound great in a store demo, especailly mated with tubes. They sound pretty good at home too.
For me they didn't do the PRaT thing well enough so off they went. The person I sold them to thinks they're great.
Like I said it's a personal taste thing.

CYU -
I have Soliloquoy 5.3s on the end of 200/202/PSC2 system and am very satisfied with the sound. I purchased the speakers several years before "hearing the light" and becoming a Naim convertee, so I don't know if I would have chosen them for my Naim system. I wouldn't call them "flat earth" speakers, but I don't think they clearly fall into the "round earth" camp either. They are very easy speakers to drive, which is why many use them with tubes, but they sound just fine with solid state as well. Honestly, I'm still learning just how good these speakers really are - they never sounded as good to me as they do now that they are being driven by Naim amplification (200/202/PSC2). I'm can't wait to hear how they sound when I add a Naim cdp to my system next year. IMO, the 5.3s represent very good VFM, and look great as well (mine are cherry; one of the few speakers I was considering at the time that passed the wife test). Also, the company stands behind its product - I was pleased with the customer service when I blew out my tweeter last year.
Speakers are an incredibly personal choice. However, if you are interested in the 5.3s, they are worth demoing. I haven't heard anything that would turn me off to the speakers after pairing them with Naim gear.
