Bargin Palm?

Posted by: garyi on 17 January 2004

Guys I was in town today looking at one of those little palms in white for around the fifty quid mark, it has 2 megs of memory, monchrome screen and a 16mhz processor.

Anyhoo in currys was a palm m130, 8 megs of memory, colour screen, USB cradle with charger and 33mhz processor for £67.

This did not seem right to me, it seems palm do not want to sell any of the monchrome ones, if a full colour screen one with tonnes more memory and the cradle which retails alone at 30 quid is only 17 quid more.

Well of course I asked, and there were none left except a returned one, without software or instructions.

Suffice to say I snapped it up with another 10% off, so basically in conclusion I got a m130 full colour screen palm, with 8 megs of memory, expansion slot, infrared, USB cradle, 33mhs processor and 4.1 operating system for 60 quid. Plus a recipt saying that software etc was not present when purchased, but I still get my years garentee.

Look round on the web, the cheapest I have seen it for is 98 from amazon used.

What I am driving at is, if you are in the market for a palm, mabye have a look in currys because they either got a job lot dirt cheap, or have screwed up big style!

Any other stories of bargins, I mean real bargins not 'relative' bargins?
