Too many artists on the HDX

I am using a HDX with a WD NAS. I moved my i-tunes to the NAS and the HDX can see it fine and plays OK.

However the HDX and DTC can see 12 versions of some artists but some do not appear at all.

Any ideas how I can remove the NAS info from the HDX and get it to rescan?

Just worked out the missing artists are Apple lossless or i-tunes files.
Still confused why so many copies of the other AAC files.

Don't get me started on that one!

But the multiple versions is a mystery - seems to add another everytime I use the DTC. I am running DTC as administrator as I have Vista 64 bit.
