Noises Off

I have just been listening to Tortoise (TNT) and Porcupine Tree (Lightbulb Sun). Both have sequences of sound-effect wallpaper involving kids in a playground. Lightbulb also has twittering birds, a familiar theme. The only time maniacal laughter has not really annoyed me is on Dark Side of the Moon where there seemed some point to it. Actually, I also like the sizzling bacon on Atom Heart Mother but could have done without the 'I like marmalade, mar, mar marmalade' routine. I quite liked Art of Noise when they first appeared (Trevor Horn's production probably) but they soon became a amalgam of silly noises and moronic voice-overs with no musical content whatsoever.

Any noises off really piss you off? Revving motorbikes spring readily to mind.
