switching sequence

Hi

I am not sure what the sequence of turning the power on for the Naim system. I have been switching on the power amp Nap 150 1st, then CD5. Reverse sequence for the off. Is this correct? Should I turn off the CD5 first, then the Nap 150 (reverse for the On)?

My other question is it better to power the CD5 with high cap vs. flatcap 2? I have been thinking of getting 2 high caps to power CD5 and Nac 112 rather than using one Flat 2. I guess using the flatcap 2 would help lower the cost, but would I compromise the sound?

thanks

Ideally you should leave the sistem switched on all the time.

I think you should switch on the source first then the amp. Reverse order when you switch off.

With regard to the separate Power supply I have not heard a CD5 with a Flatcap2 but I've got a Hi-cap. The difference over the naked CD5 is huge.

seagul is right, just leave it switched on all the time.

If you do need to turn it off then:

Turn off Power amp first, when turning on , Turn on Power amp last.

2 HiCaps will be significantly better than 1 FC, only you can decide if the improvement is worth extra money involved.
