PB calls on TMP.......

Posted by: Polarbear on 02 March 2006

.... to donate his £100 to the multiple Sclerosis society for the beneifit of a well known forum member. One of his family members is suffering from the disease. I won't mention his name as its an invasion of his privicy, however if he would like to contribute to this thread he is more than welcome. I think its only right that a fellow forum member benefits from our little disagreement over the new year.

You may recall but TMP challenged me to go a whole month without using a smilie, which I quietly did.

I will also be making a £100 donation to match TMP's for this very worthy cause,

Regards

Sorry Polar!
Thinking better..............is there anything we can do more directly?
I mean to give a direct help to the person without knowing his name.
I know people with the same problem here and they need special tolls for moving in the house and so on.
What do you think?
Is it hard to arrange?
I don't know the name of the person (and don't want to it for the reasons you wrote) but maybe a direct help would be better?

I have already asked the question Gianluigi and the offer was politely declined.

My friend requested that we went to the MS society where more can benefit.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Mike and Nigel for choosing to donate to the MS Society. It is much appreciated and I hope it will benefit many people suffering from the condition. There are many many worthy causes out there, but this one is close to home as my wife has been a sufferer for many years. Unfortunately together with other conditions my wife is now in a very late stage and resides permantly in a specialist care home. Sadly she is beyond the help of basic aids now and the focus is on keeping her comfortable. It is for this reason that I declined the very kind offers of direct support as I feel that it would be of more use to those who still have the opportunity to enjoy a higher quality of life with some practical support. The MS Society do a very good job in this area.

Thanks again and best regards

PB,

I seem to remember offering £100 for you to KEEP posting smileys, although i respect that you chose to take Mike up on his offer regardless of the sentiment of the thread in which it was made. I congratulate you.

Nevertheless, given the cause, if you post me one smiley of your chosing, I'll honour my offer and make the donation anyway.

Best Regards,

Phil

I know you did Phil and it was a very kind offer, I was torn between the two offers and decided that as Mike made the first challenge then that would be the one I would take up.

I did it quietly as I don't like causing ill feeling on forums. Mike and I are normally good friends and what happened over the new year was out of character for us both.

Hopefully with our donations someone can benefit out of what happened,

regards

Thanks PB,

Have made my £100 donation as promised. What's a missing smiley between friends?

I'm guessing we were all a little out of character around the new year, must've been something in the water...

Best Regards,
