Isobariks

On collecting my '82 today I had the pleasure of hearing Isobariks for the first time.

Wow - I have not heard anything like that before. I can only describe what they do as producing a wall of sound. I guess this is in part a result of the upward firing drivers.

Hearing the Isobariks certainly made me aware how obvious where sound emanates from other speakers ie the drivers whereas the Isobariks produced this enormous spread of sound.

They certainly are characterful.

Big as well.

An interesting experience and it was a shame that I did not have more time to listen further.

I would give my left gonad to have my old Isobariks back. I should never have sold them.

According to Mr.Pig on the Pink Fish forum mint condition briks can be picked up easily for £500. That was not my experience, I spent many months tracking down the right pair.

I suspect that in Vietnam they are as rare as the proverbial rocking-horse excrement. Comfort yourself with the fact that I would 'give my left gonad' to be back in Hoi An right now, away from the snow and bitter wind of England, with a steaming hot bowl of pho bo.

HI guys,
Yes I don't think there would be a single pair of Isobariks in Vietnam.

What's the forum experience with ebay? I bid on a item several months ago and found out at the 11th hour it was a scam. Ebay took the guy off.
A little nerve wracking.
