Stands and Naim instructions

I think that Naim are missing something. For a long time I complain that I have a problem with the bass of my CDI. True, Naim recommended to me to use a Fraim – but this stand is too expensive for me now. Naim also recommended the QS (as one of 3 recommended stands – Mana, Qs and Base) but at my home the QS didn’t improve the bass of the CDI.
I got for a try a used Apollo stand from Naim dealer in Israel, and this stand changed the sound of the system in a great way. Now I have a loud bass from the Cdi and I’m really wonder of the great change that the stand creates.
We and I think Naim too are talking a lot about the theory of “source first”, but I think we are missing the stand place.
Maybe a CD5 on a Fraim is better then a Cdi on any other stand?
What is the “rank” of a stand in the stereo chain?
Is a CD5, Nait5 on a Fraim are better then a CDs/52/NAP500 on the floor?
I get to understand now better all the MANA fans that claimed that it is important to improve to MANA before upgrading the boxes.
I wonder what do Naim have to say about this? Now when they have their own stand, where is the point where it’s more important to improve the stand instead of improving a box?

Ged and Patrick,

I'm not sure that all the components need a very hi quality stand. I think (but I'm not sure) that the PS, and power amps for example, don't need. By that I mean that if you have 3 expensive Fraim shelves with a TT, CDP and a Tuner on each, you can rest the rest of the equipment on a cheap stand.

I wonder if there are members with such an experience

But in this case your wife has an excelent taste
and you are lucky for that.

I have a friend who wanted to buy a NAD system but his wife didn't like its shape so he had to buy Rotel, although he thought the NAD is better.
