Can mm-boards be fitted wrong?

Posted by: Erik (DK) on 13 June 2003

Hi there, hope someone will help me out here:

I've just sold my mm-boards to a guy in England. I used them in a 92 and he's using them in his 92R. Only thing is all he's getting from the phono input is a loud "Bumping"
sound. He says they are definitely fitted correctly

any suggestions ?

Best regards
Erik

Are the internal links cut?

2 bits of wire, next to the cards.

Hi Erik,

there's probably nothing wrong with the boards. Ask the buyer whether he has cut the links on the main board before fiiting the phono boards. If not, he will hear a sort of "motorboating" distortion through the phono input.

If he needs any assistance with this he should get in touch with his dealer or else give our service department a call.
