Alternative Speakers

Hi guys,

My listening room measures about 10' by 12'. Currently I am using a pair of Sonus Faber Concertos with Empire sand filled stands on marble slabs. Amplification is 72/HiCap/180/NACA5. Sources are Linn Lp12 Valhalla/Meridian 206B.

I was thinking if switching to floorstanders such as the SF Grand Piano would be an `overkill'? The Concertos are fine for low frequencies, however I would like lower frequencies in the realms of 40Hz?

Would the sound be too crowded in a small room like mine? Appreciate the info and help guys...

Thank you

Terence, they really plunge, and very quickly at that, with no trace of overhang, if you'd take the time and effort to set them up properly with enough amplifier juice to boot.

If you've heard otherwise and base your conclusions from that, you haven't heard what they can really do. Then again, I daresay rather many haven't.

Good listening; the music's groovin' frightfully more.

Rgds
