Tell me, is the new one any different than these? I haven't been able to keep up with all of the releases over the years but they all seemed to started sounding the same.
It's probably closest to Whisper Not in that it roams into more bebop and terrain. It's excellent, but I do understand the feeling of oversaturation, and I have almost all of the Trio discs.
But if you don't have any of Jarrett's other ensemble work, you might try Belonging, My Song, and Personal Mountains, masterpieces all, by his "European Quartet," and featuring his wonderful, and sorely under-appreciated, original compositions. These are essential works in the Jarrett canon.

Side note - The Melody At Night, With You is the best solo jazz piano album I've ever heard.
I agree that The Melody At Night, With You is a beautiful album. But have you heard Jarrett's very first solo piano album, Facing You? Oh, man, it's incredible, and also an essential component of the Jarrett legacy.

Don't forget two of my favorites--La Scala and Dark Intervals;-)

P.S. Fred, we'd love a collaboration with you and Ralph Towner on the Naim label!

Hey, from your mouth to Ralph's ears! Anywhere, anytime.
Actually, we have recorded before, over twenty years ago on the Simon & Bard Group album Tear It Up with Ralph Towner. It also featured future Pat Metheny rhythm section Steve Rodby and Paul Wertico.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Who knows? Anything can happen.

Cool! I saw this on your website discography. Pesonally I'd love to see you partnered with Paul McCandless and the rest of Oregon as well...jamming at a small club with K. Christianson capturing the magic...ahhh..wishful thinking ;-)

Well, one never knows what might happen if one wishes hard enough.
In the meantime, there are a few albums which feature me with Paul McCandless: my album Usually/Always, and an album co-led by me, Paul, and guitarist Teja Bell called Twilight. They're a bit hard to come by, but if interested, feel free to contact me at fred@opendoormanagement.com
Also, I appear on Paul's own wonderful album Premonition, which also features Lyle Mays and Steve Rodby.
As always, thanks for your encouragement.
