He'd already had surgery by then. You need to look at the cover of Off the Wall or his best work, The Jacksons "Triumph",one year later, to see the last of the real Michael Jackson.
The King of Pop?
More like The King of Plastic Surgery or Self Mutilation" I'm afraid.

Here we go, the conspiracy theories are now in full flow ...
"Mystery surrounds Michael Jackson's sudden death ... speculation already turning to what killed the 50-year-old "King of Pop" just weeks before a long-awaited series of comeback concerts ..."
He died. Everybody does. Some at 50, some older, some younger.

I still think he was as mad as a box of frogs, but he did give us some great music. Hope he Moon Walked through the gates....

Yeah I had no time for his music or all the other baggage that went with him but at times like this if you don't want to say anything in sympathy silence is the dignified response.

So no freedom of speech then?

Of course but freedom of speech can still be had with a little dignity and timing is everything as they say......... Some of the stuff I've read elsewhere is just spite and ill-mannered vitriol.

Respect is earned & IMO Jacko deserves little if any.
Posted on: 27 June 2009 by 555
Jacko was an utter media whore, so commenting is reasonable IMO St'u.
If he had lived his life as a musical genius & recluse (like Thomas Fraser for example) you might have a point.

In 1954 Wilhelm Furtwangler, Erich Kleiber, and Clemens Krauss [three great German conductors] died, and in the USA Arturo Toscanini had a stroke and retired at a great age as well.
A news reporter asked the great German Catholic-Jewish conductor Otto Klemperer [and I use the description as it was his own of himself] what he thought of the situation.
He responded that this was, "Good news!" - explaining on subsequent questioning that there would be more oportunities for him to lead top concerts as a result.
Refreshingly direct and honest as an answer. No hypocrasy there.
And a prediction that proved accurate ...

Childish yes but the mental age of a child no - it would have been revealed in court as a defence.

The thing about being a media whore is you can't turn the attention on/off at will, as Princess Di discovered.
