Coredump,
Yes, I do have the Kangmei record in "Pile to be listened to 8"
I played the Bionaut Flowmotion EP yesterday, along with the Modular Sound Innovation compliation on Blue.
PLease keep any recommendations coming, you are one of very few other Naimees into the Cologne scene.
I try and keep up with all the main proponents, but was pleased / horrified to learn that Khan has produced over 600 pieces of music in various guises! Gotta get 'em all!
I am particularly fond of Dr Walker's sound, and try to catch all his releases.
DS
OTD - Keith Jarrett - Arbour Zena

Why? "Oaklandazulasylum" (Mekon)
King Geedorah "Take Me To Your Leader" (Mekon; this is a phreakishly phat album)
Exploding Hearts "Guitar Romantic" (Matthew Robinson; the car wreck is such a shame- lots of promise here)
Alex, how do you like "Aenima"?

Alex- it seems catching up on previous releases always provides a very different experience.
Mekon- Are you entertained by my pathetic reviews?
I wonder if anyone gave Drive-By Truckers a try. They really are very, very good. My review was a goof.

Alex, unfortunately I don't know what I was saying either. I'm a bit hung over. I suppose when you pick up an older album of an artist whose newer works you own, your perspective and expectations are a bit different than people who bought it when it was released. Hmmm.
I think I need more sleep.

On vinyl:
Cursive - Domestica
Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime (even better than their first one)
Rocket from the Crypt - Scream, Dracula, Scream
Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off, Baby (new reissue)
Tindersticks - Waiting for the Moon (forum recommendation)
Outhud - S.T.R.E.E.T.D.A.D.
Hoover - Hoover
The Locust - Plague Soundscapes
The Locust album makes the Blood Brothers seem kinda laid-back. Unfortunately, after half an hour my cats were giving me lots of pathetic "why are you doing this to us?" looks and I had to take it off. It's on some very cool looking clear vinyl, though. Also came with a helpful pamphlet from "Epitaph Ministries" filled with drawings and biblical quotations explaining how to "avoid the coming plague, if you really love the Lord". Could come in handy.

CJ Bolland = class... Only heard Fourth sign, but it blew me away...
I got yet more yesterday:
Getting high on your own supply - Apollo 440
Introduce yourself - Faith no more
Rings around the world - Super furry animals
...all for 6 quid all in - worth it for the Faith no more on its own in my opinion
When the music's over turn out the lights

David,
do give us a report on what you think of your purchases occasionaly, when you get round to listening to them! I'd like to hear what you think of Gun Disease. A bit of Mr Ranks' (g)ruffness always goes down well at Archway Towers.

Dom,
If you liked The Fourth Sign, you must get to hear 'The Source Experience' by 'The Source Experience', also on R&S.
It is Robert Leiner, who also did some more ambient stuff, but TSE is driving pulsey rave / trance / techno like CJB. Highly recommended.
djc
Will report on The Bug and various aliases soon - making a The Bug tape for the cat, but don't know if the car speakers will take it - They didn't like Scorn at all!
DS
ITC - Frederik Almquist - Being & Becoming

Sounds good to me - will get my mate to stick on the Fourth Sign when I'm round there tomorrow night - where would I be able to get both Fourth Sign (I think it's been deleted?) and the Robert Leiner stuff?

A trio from those Nice People at Caber Music, a Scottish jazz label (see http://www.cabermusic.com/) with some jolly good releases under their belt.
I got John Rae's Celtic Feet, which is a fun fusion of lots of styles including jazz, celtic and boogie-woogie. Sounds like everyone involved was having a very good time.
Also Mario Caribe's "Bacuris" which has a good collision of celtic, jazz and Brazilian influences.
Finally Brian Kellock's "Live at Henry's", which won lots of awards and it's obvious why, once you hear it. Standout jazz piano trio doing their stuff in a club. Wunderba!
Pete.
