she-yet man, you bought all the % Dynamites?
Did you just get back from Vietnam or something?
Which is the best? IIRC, I have 100, 200 and 300% and find 200 to be the best by far, but the others certainly have their moments.
What great comps.
PS If I see you in sea-town I'll trade for your dizzee rascal.

Family - "Live"
One of my favourite 70's bands and a long-awaited release.
Not worth the wait however, the "Live" side of the album "Anyway" blows it out of the water despite what it claims in the liner notes of the new CD.
Have any of you ageing Naimsters seen the Family in-concert DVD that has been released recently? Is it any good?
Off to play my vinyl copy of "Anyway"
Be seeing you

The Best of R.E.M. In Time 1988 - 2003 on CD.
I only knew four of the songs but I liked them enough to buy the album without listening to the rest. I was rather surprised to hear what seemed to be subtle echoes of The Police and Midnight Oil here and there but maybe it's just my imagination?

Dave,
Mod Lang is a great shop, they have some major artists drop in and give in-store concerts from time to time (Patrick Park was there for instance). Over the bay bridge from SF in Berkeley. Allow lots of time though, down the road there is Amoeba and Rasputin, each over 5,000 sq feet half of it vinyl. Mod Lang is easily the best though IMO. They specialise in UK imports.
Jeremy
You can get on their mailing list at www.modlang.com - send an email to info@modlang .com with the word "subscribe" in it, also includes a really good consolidated list of upcoming local gigs. They have even made some releases on their own label over the years.

Alex,
Yes, The Rapture are quite the thing aren't they!
I can't get XFM via the aerial, (well not in stereo) but I can through the digital television, in between Cpaital Gold and Virgin Radio. To be honest I don't listen to it - perhaps I will give it a try. From the listings the Remix show it is on tonight from 7.00pm.
Bit of a clash though, as the Turner prize show is on Channel 4 at 8pm, and I want to see that. My money's on Grayson Perry. His pots were a surprising hit with me - My preconceptions was that I would not be interested at all, and the Chapman Bros would be better, but no!

Dave,
Well I would offer to take care of your wife for the day but I recently got around to watching Pulp Fiction...
There's good shopping in Berkley downtown around the corner from Mod Lang and Jack London Square is nearby in Oakland.
When are you coming over?

Jeremy,
Thanks for the offer
We're over in January for a few days.
We have booked into a hotel with a gym, so The Wife is going to do some exercise and go shopping she tells me.
By some strange co-incidence, The Wife did the sub-titles for Pulp Fiction and almost knows the script off by heart!
PM me your e-mail if you like, you never know, there may be an opportunity for ytou to guide me to the best shops over there!

Sadly, I heard last week that once the new album drops, Sonic Sum won't be releasing anything else for the foreseeable. If any of you Def Jukies slept on The Sanity Annex, grab it now.

'After Murder Park' is a personal fave and one of the best things Luke Haines has ever done. Apparently diehard Auteurs fans don't like it - not sure why.
PS What did you think of 'Title TK'? Big disappointment to me...

Hi Tim
I am listening to it now, and enjoying it so far. It's the only Auteurs album we have, and it's actually for my missus. I am guilty of buying too much music that she hates, so she gave me a list of things she is after. It includes Title TK (she only has Last Splash), so I don't know about that yet. Either way, I can use it as cover to sneak more unlistenable hip hop in, so I won't be disappointed.
