russ andrews...

couldnt find the thread in which we discussed cable directionality and "run-in" to death. i am not trying to open this one again, but just seen in the latest russ andrews catalogue that they can "measure" cable directionality. and thats not all, they also offer a cable "burn-in" service for a price.

doent prove anything in particular, but interesting nevertheless...

no need for further discussion on this really...

Would be more useful if they offered a capacitor burn in service.

Years ago I used to do just that for a few of my friends who were at the time designing and building audio gear. I would take a handful of their capacitors, place them into a Faxitron (an industrial-strenght x-ray machine meant for metallurgical x-rays), tweak the kV to the max and give them an hour or so of radiation. Apparently a good way of creating cross links in the dialectric without having to burn them in with A/C.
Hmmmmmm... maybe I should sneak in one of my Supercaps into a CT scanner and see if that helps any eek
