So Gordon - how did it go? Good, bad or more time required?
Brilliant, so fresh and vibrant!
I'm off to buy some EST later.

Now that I have started with Scott 4, I have to go through all the others as well.
A great album. I always liked Bowie's version of Brel's 'my death' until I heard this one...genuis!

The Vivaldi edition on Naive gets better and better and we're only around 1/3 of the way through the planned 120 CD releases, this is number 40. Such exciting virtuoso playing and super sound, I think this will be my favorite collection of violin concertoes for some time to come.
I have bought quite a few of these releases and they are excellent. I cannot believe that they will be releasing 120 of them. Amazing that the guy wrote so much music. Are you collecting them all?
Hi Lontano,
Yes, I have every one, I started collecting a few of them and then one or two became very hard to find so I decided to get every one more or less at the time it has come out. The operas are a little difficult to justify and fit into a normal life but are well worth it, especially as Sandrine Piau appears to be the soprano of choice these days and is now one of my favorite singers as well as a perfect match for the whole project. My daughter and I were gobsmacked by the power of the opening bars of this Violin Concertoes 3 release when I popped it in the CD555 this morning, reminded me a little of hearing each new Led Zep release for the first time in the 70s

Gordon - that is very good news. I totally agree with you on the fresh and vibrant. They were something different pushing European jazz music forward in an exciting direction. They were beginning to sell albums and concerts in volumes only rock groups could and appealed to a new audience that had not experienced jazz before.
I was lucky to see them live three times, once at Pizza Express jazz club in London and twice in good venues in Sydney. They were three of my best concert experiences right up there with Bruce.
News of Esbjorn's death last year at the age of 44 in a diving accident was one of the saddest events of the year for me.
I will start my musical day with the first album I bought by E.S.T. - Good Morning Susie Soho.
