I'm jealous, I would love to experience Andy Sheppard live especially in Brighton ( I have happy memories of another festival in Brighton)

This new album reaffirms everything I respected about Sheppard. It is his emotional commitment to connect to the meaning of the music that elevates his playing about mere technical ability. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for technical ability (I'm thinking of the incomparable Art Tatum) and Andy has this talent but he breathes (sorry... Roll Eyes ) new life and verve (sorry... Roll Eyes ) into the compositions. I heartily recommend his debut album and this new one, once you have those, borrow the rest before you buy!

Still my favorite jazz album

Why? Jazz in a Classical style four sections that make up one piece of music beautifully recorded and performed.

Library again:-

First few tracks and it sounds a lot more "smooth" production. Hasn't got that edge of say Feast of Wire. Still a good album though.
