Hmmm, long time no listen. I may well give this a spin myself - on FLAC...

TMHB are my best find of 2009. Pop music is alive in Brighton; wish I lived a bit closer.
Check out Saved Again from their MySpace. A nicked sequence, but tastefully enhanced

I have to say that my sister introduced me to these guys and I am really enjoying their sound.

Brilliant set of 4 CDs featuring remastered songs by Pete Atkin and Clive James (yes that Clive James); are these albums good or are these albums good? Superb lyrics and great performances. Somewhere between Bob Dylan and Richard Digance in style (who happen to be two of my favourite song writers - well not sure I could say Pete as good as Mr D, but it is close: don't think Pete has appeared on Countdown either). If you haven't heard any Pete and Clive songs try their web site click here.

A highly underrated combination. Excellent live too.
I've got them all on vinyl, picked up during the 1980s. When I was on the Pete Atkin Midnight Voices forum I bought a pair of EPOS ES-12s from a fellow member.

Yazoo - Upstairs At Eric's on vinyl.
It must over 10 years since I last played it. Moyet's voice is superb but the 'experimental' stuff such as "I Before E Except After C" has dated badly. Very dry production too.

(CAMEO Word Up!)
I rather like it!
It's another one of those grubby albums i purchased as a box-lot for a tenner (about 100 albums in all)
But it cleaned up very well and plays very nicely...
suprised me how old that music is though, or it is me!

Uncomplicted riffs and honest lyrics velcroded to a desolate, dysotopian musical landscape infused with just the right balance of navel gazing and self depreciation.
A shining beacon in the Cowellesque, boy band, reality, black hole that permeates contemporary music.

Thanks for the heads up, not a fan of the Doug Fir Lounge, but you never know, as it gets closer.

Jeff, they are a great 'live' band and worth seeing. The CD's No Cities Left and Gang of Losers are excellent with reviews to help you here.
Have a pleasant evening.
