Nope, this one requires my undevided attention.

Has spring finally arrived in your neck of the woods, we are well into autumn down under but it feels like late summer - no complaints from me.
Cheers ... Oliver

Very enjoyable Oboe Concertos, performed on period instruments, the closeness of recording is superb, wish all classical vinyl was as good as this.

I've been interested in getting this. How do you like it? I see this is available and also a 2 LP combo - Ray Charles & Betty Carter/Dedicated to You. Would that be worthwhile as well?
Thanks,
Pat

Pat,
I play this recording quite often, like the play between Ray and Betty's voice and the arrangements.
I can't talk to the LP set. On CD this is available on silver and on gold CD from DCC. I have both, the gold CD is slightly better but difficult to find and expensive. The silver DCC is not too expensive and I can highly recommend it.
Cheers ... Oliver

I'm in the mood for some grandiose, over the top, baroque perfectionism with a realist undercurrent.
Also, it is a hauntingly intimate album and since intimacy is what I look for in music and hifi...
Gordon.
You should imho try this as well.

Lontano, Thanks for the simple and elegant answer to my Ornette Coleman q - simple really, put it on and listen! I'll dust that one off and report back.

Classic is too simple a word to describe this seminal Hip Hop 12" from 1982 sampling Kraftwerk to awesome effect, this is what I was listening to when I was 12 in 1982 and I'm so glad I did it shaped my alternative appraoch to music
