When I think of all the King Crimson music I own, none satisfy me as the eclectic Islands. This is my kind of Prog, just focusing on fabulous musicians and the understated singing of Boz. I wish I could have seen this incarnation of the band, especially in the studio for Sailor's Tale with Robert & Ian Wallace in full flow Razz.

Earlier I played Red and wish I could have been in the studio for the coda of Starless (mellotron heaven) Cool

Beauty and Mayhem = King Crimson Smile

Hi Nymph,

How is this album? I purchased Carnival but can't seem to get into it.

Best regards,
Pat

Hello Pat,

Barricades & Brickwalls: I find her voice lacking in good tonal character (it's very girly) but she does hold a tune very well. In other words, she can sing but her voice doesn't come over interesting enough for me. I think she will mature into a better singer in time, (perhaps she already has, as this album was produced in 2001).
Some other artists are lending a hand here and there which is very welcome, and the audiophile quality of the CD helps out too by emphasizing the musicianship of the band around her.
(If all CD's were engineered as well as this, we would be in wonderland).

I first heard a Kasey Chambers track on my car-radio... i think it was Wayward Angel but not sure... but thought it worth buying, and soon after accidentally purchased an album without that particular track on!
I still haven't heard the Wayward Angel album but may buy it one day if i see it in the bargain bucket ; )

Thanks for the additional information nymph. Very helpul. IMO, her voice is "girly" on Carnival, which is a 2006 release. Have a great weekend.

Best regards,
Pat

Carmina - My Crescent City

I'm finding it more involving than Weather In The Heart but I still can't help thinking "Corrs but with a bit more jazz".
