~<>~ Johann Christian Bach (1735-1782) ~<>~

Miss Haebler's fortepiano which she plays on this recording, is a reconstruction by Neupert of Bamberg of a typical eighteenth century instrument. Built in 1956 to mark the bicentenary of Marzart's birth, it was based on examples of contemporary fortepianos - particularly by Stein of Augsburg, and Walther, Graf, and Konnecke of Vienna - in the Neupert collection of about 300 historic keyboard instruments.
In making the instrument the builder's aim was, by using modern methods of manufacture with their advantages of precision and accuracy, to reproduce faithfully an acoustic and mechanical system typical of Mozart's time.

On Vinyl...
But would be equally as delectable on CD without the surface noise.

Good morning or evening depending on your geographical location...

A liitle bit of ECM before I head off to the car boots in search of lovely vinyl.
