Have been listening to quite a bit of Haydn recently, exemplary versions of the quartets by Quattour Mosaiques and trios by the Beaux Arts Trio.
Now, I am enjoying, but probably shouldn't be:
Not really sure how to describe it, but quite fun

It's come that time on a Friday night when only Coltrane, and 180g vinyl, and a cup of tea, will do...

Nat, Nat and more Nat.
This was a wonderful find yesterday!

Kuma,
I think you'd enjoy an original copy of this on vinyl:
The first of two Carnegie Hall concerts - released in '59 I believe.
You'll forget to analyse the sound. No need...you are at the concert. Mind the chewing gum on the floor when you walk across the aisle to get to your seat.

Dave,
Actually I do have both stereo and mono original on the Belafonte at Carnegie. And guess what... mono sounds better!
Anyways, i am still grooving on Nat's ' Don't get around much any more'.
A great after dinner music!
I still can't believe how fabulous this record set sounds and I haven't even cleaned them.
BTW, I got the Cannonball's Classic stereo version reissue on 'Something else' and whilst I was visiting my Linn/Naim dealer, I got to listen to the original stereo copy along with Miles' KOB in original Columbia 6 eyes ( promo! ), '95 reissues and current reissues. The Originals sounded the best. There was someting inherently natural and real about those copies. What a treat!
Now i have to get a hold of Japanese reissue of this.
