Hello Haim,

Thank You for recommending Alpha! ; )
I especially like 'Quatre chemins de mélancolie' before bedtime, to me it has that dreamy quality which is far more agreeable than melancholy. I always sleep well after it anyway...
i over-slept today by 2 hours : )

Deborah,

I was mintroduced to Alpha by Huw who recommended the excellent Bruno Cocset's disc of Jean Barrier:

Later I learned that Todd Garfinkel, the owner of MA Recordings, was the distributer of Alpha in Japan and I received a lot of recommendations from him. I have sixteen Alphas and none of them had been a disappointement. The music and the sound are always first rate.

Regards,
Haim

So far I have remained Berlioz-less. Can you recommend any of his music (I am not big on large scale orchestras)?

Haim,

I don't listen to Berlioz often, I like this historic recording but it is large scale orchestra. The only other Berlioz I do listen to once in a while is his Grande Messe des morts (not all of it in one go / 90 minutes) but again you will have large orchestration of woodwind and brass.

Cheers ... Oliver
