Anyway, this showcases an incredibly talented group of musicians playing with mind-blowing verve and skill and generally injecting life into a set of standards that one would not have thought possible before hearing this music. It's impossible to keep your feet (or any other part of your body) still while listening to this record. Highly Recommended.

I would second that. Smile

Another of my favorite trumpeters, joined by Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. A rule of thumb I have learned to follow is to buy any record with these two in the rhythm section - it's bound to be great (after all, they formed two thirds of the rhythm section of Miles Davis' first great quintet). This record certainly follows that rule, with lots of very creative and engaging performances from all concerned, including Keny Drew on piano and Hank Mobley on tenor sax.
