On Naim Edge. Pretty good on first listen and I think this will be a grower.

Every so often an album imprints itself so firmly on first listen that I simply must listen again...

I am not surprised that you think that about this album. One of my favourites and what a great line up of musicians.
David Darling cello, 8-string electric cello
Collin Walcott sitar, tabla, percussion
Steve Kuhn piano
Jan Garbarek tenor and soprano saxophones
Arild Andersen bass
Oscar Castro-Neves guitar

What a wonderfully emotive recording; such apathetic yearning, almost as if the artists were longing for something and yet too sleepy to make it happen; a coma revolution.

Oldish stagers & new kids on the block. Excellent singers and music in both cases.

Thinking of emotive albums in the 'less is more' school of thought, this one is up there at the top...

I have only played this once, loud whilst driving and thoroughly enjoyed it. Should spin it again soon.

'61 recording.
A nice swinging live recording backed by a simple piano, bass and drums.

It is a superb album imho. The artists work furiously like blacksmiths pumping their bellows as if their very lives depended on it but what they produce are shadows of stone.
