Playing the Black triangle pressing of Nursery Cryme Genesis. Will need to spend sometime comparing to other versions but initial reaction is that there is more tape hiss than Definitive Edition Remasters.
That should be a good thing as these discs didn't get the no-noise treatment and have the full dynamic range preserved.
I don't have this one yet.

Kuma,
you're digging out some really cool stuff, another one I had not seen before.

That record is almost impossibly emtional for me.
Was current when my parents were separating.
I love it, know it - know it by heart - but only listen to it at someone else's house [if they have a copy] very rarely.
Not sure I could listen to it alone ...

An excellent Speaker's Corner reissue.

I have the wonderful Irving Berlin Songbook on CDs.
I want the Cole Porter in time.
Ella Fitzgerald's musical values are the equal of the very finest ever managed in musical performance.

George,
it brings back a lot of memories and emotions for me as well, fortunately more positive ones.
Cheers ... Oliver

An excellent Speaker's Corner reissue.
One of the very few Gold DCCs still missing in my collection - you just can't get it for a reasonable price.

Is it not out on a normal Verve Stereophonic issue?
That would be more than good enough for me, at least, and Ella's perfect intonation is so helped be elliminating the wobbly pitch and timing [rhythmic distortion] inevitable with LP replay.

I have to have a look for it, I have almost every single Ella songbook there is on Verve but somehow never picked this one up.

George,
I love the Berlin Songbook, too but the one I listen often is the Ella sings Rodgers and Hart.
There are so many of my favourite songs in it that I can play/sing along.
So much of Cole Porter tunes, I associate with Fred Astare versions who's also was a wonderful singer on his own right. He doesn't have much of the *voice* but his phrasing is one of the kind.

Miles,
Are these out of print?

IIRC, these weren't that expensive. Certainly not as much as the reissue. (they are worth it, tho )
