A present from a friendly Zante bar keep:-

Natassa Theodoridou - Tosi Agapi Pos Na Hathi

A pleasant blend of Greek folk, meets a female Demis Rousoss and Eurovision Song festival, more towards Greek folk though.

This morning saw Feeder - Yesterday Went To Soon getting some play time, but I really need to knock out a good few thousand words this afternoon so:

System 7 - Phoenix
Mirror System - Mirror System

Will be on heavy rotation. Don't know what it is about them but they really help me focus.

Harold Alexander Lady Euphoria

Destination Paradise:
Orchestral Grooves, Laid Back Beats & Soothing Soul from the Warner & Atlantic Vaults [VINYL]

A double album of various artists well worth the £4.99 price tag from hmv vinyl-meltdown sale...
imho, this is worth buying just for 'side four', especially Desination Paradise by Yusef Lateef. The spooky use of bass guitar, and wah-wah guitar is not too dissimilar to the music soundtrack in the film, Psychomania, and is also strangely reminiscent to some early pink floyd.
However, the best hit in this combination (imho) goes to Herbie Mann's 10 minute version of the Beatles 'Come Together' ...so laid back it's horizontal!
The only track that’s more than slightly lacking to my taste is the 'talk-over style' Les Crane Nature that is the very first track, but after this there really isn’t any other duff tracks here. The quality control is poor with some hissy-surface noise and minor warping which is a shame, but this is still a fiver well spent! : )

Can't sit still - definitely not one for the politically correct brigade and all the better for it

Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears

An old favourite (of virtually everyone...) - but this is a Jap pressing, seems a pretty much 'standard on the outside' Warners CD but something's not the same - fantastic clarity, first class presentation
