I've not been able to pass the NO bug to my little 'uns,
but they do like The KLF.
So we're now going to listen to this & play frustration.

Mozart Piano Concerto no 20. Catalogued as K 466, in D minor.
The performeance in from Edwin Fischer and the LPO recorded in Abbey Road for HMV in 1933. No separate conductor.
Only Clara Haskil would reveal as much with so small a resource as expressive deviation from the printed score.
ATB fromm george
PS: Such a performance is of course still available on APR5523 [APIAN Records, PO Box 1, Wark, Hexham, Northumberland. NE48 3EW. United Kingdom].

Love the Haskil, but sadly don't have any of her Mozart....
Posted on: 05 August 2009 by soundsreal
Yikes, I just discovered I do have her, on EPIC, doing concerto in a and d, with Paul Sacher and Bernhard Paumgartner conductors. She's framed and hanging on one of my walls--I always liked her looks, kind of like a young Margaret Rutherford....

I have the Philips series and some DG re-issues of tape recordings from radio concerts and a pair of EMI studio recordings. Plus one Orfeo re-issue of a Salzburg Concert with Geza Anda ...
All Mozart!
She was an angel!
ATB from George
PS: Philips issues with the VSO? There was also a pair of concerti recorded for Westmisnter which are crippled by the orchestra, sadly.

Pugwash - Giddy
Just listened to the Pugcast over on Ape. I will order when available, as the Jellyfish/XTC influence cannot be resisted. Pretty nifty cover art as well

Released on Ape on 21st September, but available to pre-order shortly. 13 tracks handpicked by Andy P and Thomas Walsh from Pugwash's previous albums and completely remastered for this special compilation. The CD comes in a beautiful multi fold gatefold cardboard sleeve with a 2 piece slipcase.
As a bonus for those of you who pre order ONLY, when order your CD you can get a FREE digital copy of the album at the same time by checking the box below.
Frontman Thomas Walsh is currently enjoying fame and adulation with his Duckworth Lewis Method project, an album of cricketing songs with Divine Comedys Neil Hannon.
