Great NN.
Nitty Gritty here.
There is a reissue on PG, but I am not a LZ freak to pay 55 bucks!
The copy i have here is just a US Atlantic release.
Would love to get a hold of a UK pressing.
I should check out a CD to see if there is a cough tomorrow.

Kuma,
i really would like some Led Zep on vinyl, and i see so many re-issues around that people don't rate so well. Do you have any recommondations for LZ LP's? : )

That's funny.
I just heard the cough at the end of Side A!
What's that about?
I just finished scrubbing these records trying to save 'em. Elbow grease paid off. They sound great now~!
So which one sounds better the cough or the non-cough version.

'Cherokee, Australian Aboriginal and Irish blood, a background in rodeo bull riding, rugby league, shearing shed work and the tough life on the streets of Melbourne and Sydney paint the background. This storyteller deals with love and loss, which may be typical for many storytellers; LJ tells them from having been there. And while much music these days has a lot of assistance from computers, this earthy, real music and his weary voice build a picture of life in the city and the bush that will capture your imagination.'

NN.
I'm not a connoisseur or anything like that in record buying, but the Classic Label reissue of II isn't that great.
The only other LZ records I have is this Physical Graffiti.
I've a few reissues, but not all of them are great. ( waste of money, really )
What I do usually is try to find the original release in good condition. Hit and miss obviously, but they are relatively cheap, so I pick the ones that sound the best out of 'em. ( label, release, condition, country of origin etc.. matters it seems )
I had a better luck doing that rather than buying expensive reissues. Plus, the ones get released are not often my favourite titles.
Exceptions, however, have been old jazz reissues. Those are worth it albeit you can still end up with bum copy @50USD.
Do you have particular LZ albums you like?
Maybe the Mothership ( 60USD for 4 records ) is worth getting but I haven't heard 'em.
I'd think that since you are in the UK, the first UK pressing on many of British rock titles should be easier to be found than in the US!
Now on to Santana! ( why wouldn't the MOFO release the reissue of this one.
)
Or this one.

IMHO you got the best LZ with PG, but I do love them all. I can't talk to vinyl but on CD you have to stay away from Mothership - the mastering is atrocious.

Who knows, they might one of these days but I assume the two they re-released have by far the broadest commercial appeal.

The last two are store recommendations - never heard them before.

Well, the first three Santana are mandatory. Yet I still like the tune Europa.

I just noticed my unfortunate typo.

Thanks for advice Kuma, i'll keep me eyes open for nice old pre-owned copies for not too much money : )
I know what you mean, Miles... it is Mothership i'm thinking off (in vinyl) which is less than £40 ukp for 4 LP's, so affordable even by a humble nymph. Perhaps the vinyl is okay on the mastering?
...i'll have to ask munch, he'll know : )

Really?
What on earth did they do to the CD version?
The Mothership ( LPs ) was supposedly cut by Stan Ricker of RTI and half-speed mastered.

Japanese Gold cd pressing.
I didn't know there was a Gold CD out there - you learn a new thing every day.
There is 2 gold Paris cd's. I have copies of both.
They released a whole series of Jarrett discs on gold last year in mini lp sleeves. They are now quite expensive.
I have quite a few of these Koln, Bremen etc
However one of the versions I have is in a normal cd case and it a much earlier issue.
Need to check the obi on it again but think it is from about 92 but could be wrong. Got a surprise when it came in as I won it on eBay and the seller didn't put that it was a gold cd in the listing. Think I paid about £6 for it.

Maybe I should spend some more time on e-bay, nice catch.
