Gordon - not sure if you are a Philip Glass fan or not but he is one of my favourite composers. I just love how he writes and performs and I was once lucky to see him play three concerts over three nights at the Sydney Opera House (him and his band playing the soundtracks of three films, live with the film playing - mesmerising) as well as attend a talk with him. Fascinating man.

I have just watched this superb film with Mrs Lontano, who is not a huge fan but she really loved the man and the film. Recommended.


Now I am playing this - one of his many excellent scores.

Now listening to it and very peed off that I did not go and see it. Unlike me to not have noticed this. Philip Glass in the hall, Dennis Russell Davis conducting and Gidon Kremer on Violin. Glass Violin concerto and Symphony No 7.

Had a lovely day with a number of albums on the Project 6 Perspex, now sporting a Kontrapunkt B., playing via Stageline?FC into 252/250/Focal 1029. Listened to my recent purchases plus excerpts from "The Free Story", "History of Fairort Conveention", "Woyaya" Osibisa, Joe Jackson's "Jumpin' Jive", Eagles "Greatest Hits", "Night After Night" Nils Lofgren and others I can't immediately recall. This black stuff is addictive!

Superb late night listening. Great Bass(Base) from Hein Van De Geyn, Drums Joe la Barbera and Guitar John Abercrombie.

This is very good as well. Enrico Rava with jazz interpretations of opera tunes. On Label Bleu from 1993.

The album that started me off on the jazz trail. Not really a full on jazz album but it very jazz influenced mixed with world, latin and rock. From 1987 Pat Metheny Group - STILL life (talking)
