I think its first spin was on something rather more basic.

Would be hard to find a more stellar line up than that one, all IMHO of course.

Hi Adrian - I was playing this earlier, and think I have you to thank for alerting me to it:

What other Opeth albums are most like it - I'm not ever so keen on gruff death-metal vocals?

Also, have you come across a band called Agalloch - often compared to Opeth, apparently. There's lots of stuff on YouTube by them, if you want to check them out.

Cheers

Nigel - this really is the only Opeth album without the death vocals. However, I really like Blackwater Park as well as it has it mixes the heavy, melodic, death, normal vocals together very well (try the tracks Harvest and The Drapery Falls). Once you play it a bit you get used to the death vocals and well, i think they are superb albums. Their new one Watershed is also good also. They are on Spotify for you to try first. Give them a bit of time.

Not come across Agalloch - will try them out. Cheers

There is nothing like the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band out there. Neil Innes and Viv Stanshall - together they were a fabulous combination to front a memorable band
